MELBOURNE

The heritage listed Toorak Synagogue, built in 1930 by Nahum Barnett, is of a grand design and features rare Tasmanian blackwood carving throughout the interior. It has a stunning byzantine dome over 100 feet in height, with stained glass windows leading up to it and is an iconic building with a Heritage overlay. It is often regarded as the ‘cathedral’ synagogue in Melbourne.
