LIVE AT YOURS is an artist-led organisation founded in 2020 by husband and wife team Vladimir Fanshil and Eleanor Lyons. The couple’s determination to present live music during the COVID-19 pandemic to an audience of 20 has grown into an organisation presenting the most outstanding lineup of local and international artists to thousands across the country.

At LIVE AT YOURS, we believe music is a powerful tool for human connection, a guiding principle that has led us to create over 200 unforgettable musical experiences.

We have presented concerts in venues of all sizes — homes, cafes, sheds, art galleries and heritage-listed buildings. No matter where we are, music is always front and centre.

“Musical performances are constantly filling ever-larger halls, auditoriums and stadiums.

This trend, influenced by Franz Liszt’s romantic vision of the pianist, drove music toward grander venues. The unfortunate consequence is the widespread decline in salon concerts and chamber music, aided in part by the decreasing number of people picking up musical instruments and playing together casually.

We have become desensitised by an overload of constant noise, and barely notice the colour change of a modulation or the beauty of an unresolved suspension…

An expansion inward has defined the direction of the performing arts in 2021 and soft has replaced loud on stage.

We find ourselves in the new normal where life seems to have slowed; where music has again become the fireplace around which we gather in one another’s’ homes; where low light, Chopin and body heat combine to form ephemeral moments in intimate spaces.

The stage becomes a circular and inclusive space defined by the relationship between performer and audience alike. Without an audience, musicians are merely practicing, and without the music, there is no fire.

Live at Yours is a truly implosive experiment, demonstrating that the most profound things are expressed softly, closely; our deepest collective connections with music happen within people’s homes, giving meaning to pain and beauty to the mundane.
